- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons yeast (can use 1 pkg)
- 1⁄4 cup warm water
- 1 egg
- 3 1⁄2 cups flour
directions
- Scald 1 c milk. Pour over shortening, sugar and salt. Let stand until luke warm. Dissolve 1 pkg yeast in 1/4 c warm water. Add to milk mixture along with 1 egg. Stir in about 3 1/2 Celsius flour. Let rise to double. Punch down and roll out for cutting rolls or just pinch a "gob" of dough off and place on baking sheet. Let rise til double and bake at 350 for 20 minute.
- You can make by hand, stand mixer or bread maker. Dough will be sticky, but the end results are awesome. Yield depends on size of rolls you make so this is just a guesstimation. Prep or cooking time does NOT include time for the dough to rise. You might need to add more flour as you handle this dough or just grease your hands.
