Directions

  1. Sift all dry ingredients together.
  2. Mix dates and nuts together and then add to dry ingredients.
  3. Combine orange juice, orange rind, eggs, applesauce and melted shortening together, then add to dry ingredients.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Bake in loaf pan for 1 1/2 hours in 325 oven.
