Nutmeg Rolls

"I can't bring myself to roll these down to only 1/4" wide. I mean really, I want cookies, not toothpicks! I can manage 1/2 an inch well enough and I get nicely sized cookies with that."

  1. Annacia - you my dear have a real winner of a recipe here! I absolutely love the nutmeg flavor in these cookies (I used freshly grated nutmeg too). I could not bring myself to leave them at a 1/4" width either and kept mine around a 1/2". Really quite fun to make. I loved the frosting on these cookies too - the rum extract just really adds a nice depth to the flavoring of the nutmeg. The only thing I forgot to do was sprinkle more nutmeg on top of the frosting. I'm so glad to have made these and am adding them to my Christmas baking list for this year definitely. They are so great dunked into coffee too (I know because I tried a couple unglazed ones with my coffee! ) Made for Newest Zaar tag game.
