Oatmeal Bread

- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 2 (7 g) envelopes yeast
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 3 cups boiling water
- 2⁄3 cup molasses
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 1⁄4 cup shortening, melted
- 7 cups flour
directions
- Mix sugar, water and yeast, let stand for 20 minutes. Soak oats in hot water for 15 minutes.
- Add molasses, salt shortening and yeast to cooled oats. Blend. Gradually mix in flour, knead until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, Cover and allow to stand in a warm place until double in bulk. Knead slightly and place in two greased loaf pans. Cover, let stand in warm place until double in bulk.
- Bake at 350F for 40 minutes.

<br>I guess the dish that I am famous for is my Christmas ham - my family all comes home for Christmas, and if i don't have my ham they are dissapointed, and my grandson wants the pistachio squares!!! so I guess that is the dishes that I'm famous for.
