  1. Grease and flour 8x10 pan. If double recipe use 9x13 pan.
  2. Mix in a bowl 1/2 cup margarine, oatmeal, and boiling water.
  3. Let set for 20 minutes.
  4. Then add remaining cake ingredients from eggs to cinnamon and mix thoroughly.
  5. Pour into pan.
  6. Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
  7. Take cake out of the oven and start the topping.
  8. Make topping by mixing margarine, sugar, and vanilla in a sauce pan.
  9. Bring ingredients to a boil.
  10. Add vanilla, walnuts, and coconut and stir until mixed.
  11. Pour over warm cake.
  12. Put under broiler in oven until browned.
