  • In a mixing bowl, pour water over oatmeal. Allow to stand for 10 minutes. Add sugars and butter, stirring until the butter melts. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Sift flour, soda, cocoa, and salt together. Add to the batter. Mix well. Stir in half of the chocolate chips. Pour into a greased 9x13 baking pan.
  • Sprinkle top of cake with walnuts and remaining chocolate chips. Bake at 350F for about 40 minutes.

  1. I love this cake! The flavor and texture are great. I used chopped pecans on mine instead of walnuts, and I also added about a teaspoon and a half of cinnamon to the batter. It's going fast! Thanks.

Her sweets are fantastics, especially her pound cakes, Yummm <br> <br>I guess the dish that I am famous for is my Christmas ham - my family all comes home for Christmas, and if i don't have my ham they are dissapointed, and my grandson wants the pistachio squares!!! so I guess that is the dishes that I'm famous for.
