  1. This recipe is delicious and very easy to make! I accidentally used Quick Oats, and they came out fine. These scones look and taste very professional. Great recipe! Thanks for sharing this, Barb.

  2. Very good and easy recipe. I substituted soy milk (w/ lemon juice) for the buttermilk.

  3. Absolutely Fabulous!!! I love these goodies!! I had some golden raisins and dried cherries on hand and added those to the mix instead of currants but you could use any dried fruits. Next time I am adding slivered almonds! DELUXE!! Thanks Barb for this delectable goodness! :0)

  4. I was out of baking powder and substituted by adding 1/2 cup yogurt and more baking soda. These scones are so tasty! I also substituted currants for frozen mango. Wow! I'm definitely using this recipe again!

  5. Love these! I don't like fruit in my pastries, so I subed chocolate chips! I've made these several times and they have turned out great every time. I have used both milk and buttermilk without a difference. I don't roll mine out, but shape the circle by hand. Lovely triangles every time!

Tweaks

  1. Chocolate chips instead of raisins/craisins

  2. Really delicious!!!!! I substituted buttermilk for milk because that's what I had on hand, added a little cinnamon and just a bit more sugar in the dough and on top for a crunchy sweet topping!!! Yum!! Will definitely make again!

  3. I've never made these myself, but my mom made them for the second time yesterday and I just had to share how much I love them! They're by far the best scones I've ever tasted, and they're so easy to make. She uses soy milk and lemon juice in place of the buttermilk, and they've come out great both times. This recipe is definitely a keeper!
