ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons cloves
- 2 teaspoons allspice
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups oatmeal
- 1 cup nuts (optional)
directions
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Beat in eggs.
- Add spices, flour, soda and salt.
- stir in oatmeal and nuts.
- Drop by tsp onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
- bake 375 for 10-12 minute.

These are AWESOME! I kept looking for spice cookies and all the recipes had 1/4t or 1/2t of spices and I knew that wasn't enough to enable me to REALLY taste the spices. I don't like a subtle hint of spices....I don't like to be slammed over the head with them, but I definitely want to taste them. I can definitely taste them very nicely in this cookie. I used dark brown sugar, and omitted the nuts as these are going to a party later & you never know about nut allergies. The only change I made was to use half whole wheat flour and half white flour. Thanks so much for sharing!
