  1. In a heavy saucepan over med-high heat, bring the milk and salt to a gentle boil, about 3 minutes.
  2. Slowly stir in the oats.
  3. Decrease the heat to medium and cook uncovered at a gentle boil, stirring frequently, until the oatmeal is soft and the milk is absorbed, about 5 minutes.
  4. Adjust the heat as needed to keep the oatmeal boiling gently.
  5. Remove from the heat, cover, and let stand for 3 minutes.
  6. After the oatmeal has rested, stir in the cream just until blended.
  7. Using a large spoon, gently stir the blueberries into the hot oatmeal.
  8. Divide among individual bowls and serve at once.
