ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
directions
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil and reduce to medium heat stirring frequently, about 5 minutes until milk is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and cool for several minutes.

This was a great breakfast. The maple syrup and brown sugar gave it just the right touch of sweetness. But cooking the oats in milk (I usually cook them in water) gave it such a creamy texture that was a pleasant surprise. Thank you for sharing your recipe, Queen Puff. Made for Fal 2012 Pick-A-Chef.

Delicious - I used 1 % 3/4 cup of almond milk (but two would be fine if you don’t like it too thick which I don’t and you can always boil longer on low to thicken) i used one Tsp of brown sugar instead of 2 and added raisins and chopped almonds. Very creamy and not too sweet ...I’ll never make oatmeal with water again- never enjoyed it that way!
