  1. This was a great breakfast. The maple syrup and brown sugar gave it just the right touch of sweetness. But cooking the oats in milk (I usually cook them in water) gave it such a creamy texture that was a pleasant surprise. Thank you for sharing your recipe, Queen Puff. Made for Fal 2012 Pick-A-Chef.

  3. Made for a great beginning of my day. I can hardly wait to see about how the rest of it goes. Made for Best of 2012 recipe tag.

  4. Made this for breakfast this morning, the boys loved it. Also, now fixing it for them for a Saturday lunch, guess it was a hit. We may have added a little extra brown sugar and syrup! Mmmmm! Thank you!

  5. Great technique and recipe! I did add another 1/2 cup of oats and it still turned out just like I had hoped. Thanks for sharing the recipe. : )

Tweaks

  1. Delicious - I used 1 % 3/4 cup of almond milk (but two would be fine if you don’t like it too thick which I don’t and you can always boil longer on low to thicken) i used one Tsp of brown sugar instead of 2 and added raisins and chopped almonds. Very creamy and not too sweet ...I’ll never make oatmeal with water again- never enjoyed it that way!

  2. Less milk

  3. This was perfect! Tasted just like my grandmother use to make.
