  • Place muffin pieces on 2 cookie tins. Rinse and drain crab meat; drain well. Mix crab with butter, cheese, salts and mayonnaise. Mix well and spread on muffin pieces. You must freeze for at least 30 minutes or longer before broiling. Broil until puffed, bubbly and slightly golden brown. Serve hot.

Questions & Replies

  1. I always make these ahead! Prepare them and freeze for the 30 minutes per the recipe, then cut them in quarters and put them back in the freezer till frozen completely. Then place in zipper freezer bags till you need them. They just need a few extra minutes in the oven, but they’ll be just as delicious!

  1. Great tasting appetizers which I shared at a recent potluck! The only change I made was to use garlic powder instead of the garlic salt! Definitely something I want to include on my finger food counter the next time I host one of my monthly groups! Thanks for sharing the recipe! [Made & reviewed in New Kids on the Block tag]

  2. My Grandmother gave me this recipe years ago! Its the exact recipe. I chop the crab meat up and mix all with my electric mixer. They are delicious! I cook mine and cut them after they come out. One of the easiest and delicious appetizers I make.
