  • Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger together.
  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add egg and beat until light and fluffy.
  • Add apple butter; add molasses; blend.
  • Add dry ingredients; mix.
  • Chill dough for 2 hours or more.
  • Roll as thin as possible.
  • Cut into large cookies.
  • Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake in moderate oven, 375 degrees Fahrenheit, for 10 minutes.
