Old Stand By - easier than pie!

"Even people who do not like yogurt love this frozen delight. They do not recognize yogurt as an ingredient because this dessert has a wonderful velvety texture and simply does not taste like yogurt. My mom passed this down to me 10 years ago. Cook time is freeze time."

  1. This was a fast and easy dessert. But the directions should have mentioned that the Cool Whip needed to defrost before incorporating it into the yogurt. The dessert also needs to sit out for 1/2 to 1 hour so that it is not rock hard frozen. I used part lemon yogurt and part vanilla. I served this with fresh blueberries. A nice dessert to serve on a hot summer day!

  3. I used to make this years ago. It's light and refreshing. Any yogurt flavor will do, I like to use lemon or raspberry. You can top with fresh berries or a fruit sauce. As mentioned by Abby Girl, defrost the Cool Whip before incorporating it into the yogurt and allow the prepared frozen pie to sit out for 1/2 to 1 hour so that it can be easily sliced for serving.

  4. We've made this for what seems forever. I originally found the recipe in a magazine (it was so long ago that the items are no longer made in the sizes specified in the original recipe! LOL) We usually use strawberry, raspberry or cherry and a graham cracker crust. Great on a hot summer day.
