Old-Time Apple Pie

ingredients
- pastry dough, for two double crust, nine-inch pies
- 5 cups tart cooking apples, sliced (4-5 large apples)
- 2⁄3 cup sugar
- 4 -5 tablespoons enriched flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1⁄2 teaspoon grated lemon rind
- 1⁄4 cup molasses
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
directions
- Line 2, 9-inch pie pans with pastry. Sprinkle apples with a mixture of sugar, flour, salt, nutmeg and lemon rind. Spread in pie shell. Pour molasses and lemon juice over apples; dot with butter. Cover with remaining pastry. Trim, seal and flute edge. Bake 10 minutes at 450F then at 350F for 30-40 minutes.

<br>I guess the dish that I am famous for is my Christmas ham - my family all comes home for Christmas, and if i don't have my ham they are dissapointed, and my grandson wants the pistachio squares!!! so I guess that is the dishes that I'm famous for.
