I have a deep dark secret...I go to Olive Garden for two reasons: I can't get enough of their salad, their pasta e fagiole but most of all their berry sangrias. It's not too sweet, not too tart...but boy they can sneak up on you. So after a long work week and a vow to spend less on eating out I thought I would try this recipe. Very, very tasty! I was put off by the two cups of sugar in addition to so much grenadine. I scaled back the simple syrup to consist of 1/2 cup of sugar ratio. I am so glad I did! It was just sweet enough and my hubby raved that it tasted better than Olive Gardens. *Note* I used the 1 1/2 liter of lambrusco but it could have used a bit more if you want it to have more of a punch. I put marachino cherries, sliced oranges, and strawberries in the glass for added appeal. Keeper!
