Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl whisk together all of the dry ingredients (sugar through cornstarch) and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan combine the half-and-half, whipping cream, and butter and turn heat on medium-low. Whisk the mixture of dry ingredients into the half-and-half mixture, and keep on whisking it as the mixture cooks and thickens (about 5 minutes). Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the filling mixture into a 9" unbaked pie shell. Place the pie on a baking sheet and put both into the oven for 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the middle of the pie, comes out clean.
  5. Remove the pie from the oven and let cool for 15 minutes and then place it in the refrigerator to finish chilling. Once chilled, it is ready to serve, enjoy!
