- 2 cups Soft Silk flour
- 1 3⁄4 cups sugar
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄3 cup shortening
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
directions
- Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour two 8" round cake pans. Blend flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add shortening, 2/3 cup milk and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Add remaining milk and egg. Beat 2 more minutes. Pour into pans and bake 30 minutes.
