- Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray; add oil and place over medium heat until pan is hot.
- Add sugar; cook until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly.
- Cook an additional 2 minutes or until golden, stirring constantly.
- Add onion and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- (Caramelized sugar will harden and stick to spoon, but will melt again.) Cook 20 minutes or until onion is golden, stirring occasionally.
- Add orange juice and bourbon; cook 5 minutes or until liquid evaporates.

I love to knit, smock, sew, etc., but my favorite hobby of the moment is traditional rug hooking. This is a sample of what I do.? It's called "November".? I dyed most of the wool myself. It is made from wool flannel, cut into strips a little less than 1/4" and then worked into a linen backing. This is my 3rd rug.
