  • Melt butter in saute pan.
  • Add onions and sugar.
  • Cook for 5 to 8 minutes until onions are caramelized.
  • Add red wine, white vinegar, bay leaf, thyme, grenadine and salt and pepper.
  • Simmer until liquid is gone.
  • Serve chilled.
  • This unique accompaniment will go well with almost any dish. Poultry, beef and game meats are best served with this on the side. Onion lovers will be creative with its use.

  1. Wow this was really good. My wife loved it. We actually used this with fajitas and it came out great! I substituted red wine vinegar for the white vinegar and used garlic pepper. We will definitely make it again. Thanks for adding!
