Onion Stuffed Turkey Burgers

"This recipe comes from a Taste of Home magazine. The contributor is Megan Crow. I changed it up a bit by using onion instead of red pepper b/c my family doesn't care for red peppers. I don't think they need any additional condiments but that's up to you. You could also use ground chicken in place of the turkey if you wanted to."

  • Heat olive oil in a small frying pan.
  • Add diced onions and saute over low-med heat until translucent.
  • Set aside.
  • In a bowl, combine soup mix,garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce,salt and pepper.
  • Crumble turkey into bowl and mix well.
  • Shape turkey mixture into 8 thin patties of the same diameter.
  • Spoon sauteed onions and cheese into the center of 4 of the patties.
  • Top with the remaining 4 patties.
  • Press firmly to seal edges or you will have a mess.
  • Grill burgers over low-med heat till the juices run clear approx 5-7 minutes per side, but it depends on your preference.
  • Serve on buns.
