"My wife wanted something different, something unlike other cookies. So I set out to make something never made before. Crispy on the outside, and though they come out very thin, they are still chewy. New twist on Chocolate Chip Cookies."

  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • In large mixing bowl thoroughly mix butter, shortening and sugar. Stir in egg and molasses.
  • Dump salt, baking soda and flour into wet mix and on low speed, mix well for 2 minutes. Add in chocolate chips and mix for another minute.
  • Scoop a silverware-spoon serving size and place on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart and from edge. This will spread out fairly flat and even.
  • Cook for 7-9 minutes, until JUST turning brown on edge and remove. Cool on sheet for 4 minutes and then place on cooling rack until ready to eat or place in cookie jar.
