Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Soften yeast in warm water.
  2. Combine hot milk, shortening, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm.
  3. Add remaining ingredients. Makes a soft dough; cover and let rise 10 minutes.
  4. Knead.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl; cover; let rise until doubled, about 2 hours.
  6. Punch down; let rest 10 minutes.
  7. Roll out in 18" x 10" rectangle, 1/2 inch thick.
  8. Cut strips 10 inches long x 3/4 inch wide.
  9. Roll strip and tie in knot.
  10. Put on baking sheet.
  11. Let rise until double.
  12. Bake for 12 minutes in a 400°F oven.
  13. You can ice with orange icing.
