  1. Combine flour and baking soda and set aside.
  2. Mix Crisco, sugar and eggs and mix well.
  3. Stir in orange juice and orange rind.
  4. Add flour mixture and buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  5. Drop by teaspoonful on lightly greased sheets.
  6. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire racks and frost with orange frosting.
  7. To prepare ORANGE FROSTING: Cream all frosting ingredients till smooth. If mixture is too stiff, add a little more orange juice.
  8. Frost cookies after cookies are cooled.
