  1. I love making oatmeal LOTS of different ways, and I have really loved this recent discovery of orange oatmeal. In fact, I've already had it three times in the last week! ****BUT, I MODIFIED THE RECIPE a bit...so here's how I made it:**** Boil 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup OJ, and a sprinkle of salt. Add 1/2 cup whole grain oats (I always use whole grain oats), some raisins, a sprinkle of cinnamon, AND a few drops of imitation maple flavor (this makes it extra yummy!). Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for about 5 minutes. Then after putting in a bowl I add about a half an apple diced up, maybe srinkle some ground flaxseed on there, and a small spoonful of brown sugar or honey. Oh my goodness, it's delicious!!! Not to mention hearty and healthy!

  2. I, personally, didn't like the flavor of this oatmeal too well. It kind of reminded me of really strong Kool-Aid or an orange popsicle. I was hoping that it would be a milder orange flavor. After eating about half of it, I decided to add some milk and vanilla. That helped a little; but I just don't think this is what I was looking for. Thanks anyway!

  3. I used sliced kumquats instead of the zest and it was delicious!

  4. This recipe sounded great, but the orange flavor was just overwhelming and the orange juice made the oatmeal taste sour. I'll try it again, but with much less juice and more water.

  5. this was a very yummy oatmeal, although i edited it to suit what my fridge contained, with using pomegranate instead of orange, it was really something and i will definitly have it again, with the orange perhaps next time.
