  • Combine all ingredients in a small non-reactive saucepan over medium heat, stirring, until boiling. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool. Pour into a clean covered jar and refrigerate.
  • Makes 1 1/4 cups or 10 (2-tablespoon) servings.

  1. I've never had Outback tomato dressing. In fact,.. I'm not an Outback fan. This recipe tastes very much like Catalina dressing. It's sweet and tomato tasting using the recipe to exact measurements, which I did. I decided to tweak the recipe to suit my taste. It was my intention to make the flavors bolder,.. and it did. Added double the garlic powder, onion powder. ground pepper, cayenne, thyme, and an extra 1/4 cup of vinegar and simmered it again. It came out tasting similar,.. still sweet but with a little more flavor punch. I like it as an alternative to the Italian vinegar and oil dressing I regularly make.
     
  2. Not a bad dressing. But this does not taste like the Outback tangy tomato dressing
