  • Place ox tail, onions and water in a kettle; bring to boil.
  • Cover and simmer for 2 hours.
  • Add potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and salt.
  • Cover and simmer for 1 more hour.
  • Serve hot.

  1. not good ox tails should be cooked until the almost fall off the bone
     
  2. With my tweaks, it turned out great. Meat had a roasted flavor and just fell off the bones. I only used 4 cups of water, I browned the meat in a pan before placing it in my crock pot. I cooked it for 12 hours. Last hour I added the veggies along with a sliced jalapeño pepper. YUM!!!

Tweaks

  1. First, I browned the ox tail in a pan. I only added 4 cups of water. I put it in a slow cooker for 12 hours. Last hour I added the potatoes, tomatoes, carrots and salt. I also added a large sliced Jalapeño. It turned out Delicious!!!!
