Pacific Rim Tenderloin

"If you don't have a large zip lock bag, you can marinate in a shallow pan, but the bag works best. This tastes great! Prep time does not include the marinating time!"

directions

  • Place tenderloin in a large zip top bag. Combine soy sauce and next 6 ingredients; stir well. Pour over the tenderloin. Seal bag securely. Marinate in the refrigerator for 8 hours, turning occasionally.
  • Remove tenderloin from the marinade, discarding marinade. Grill, covered, over medium hot coals (350 to 400 degrees) for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the tenderloin registers 160 degrees, turning occasionally.
  • Combine 1/4 cup brown sugar and the next 4 ingredients in a small saucepan. Stir well. Bring to a boil.
  • Combine the cornstarch and water, stirring until smooth. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the brown sugar mixture, and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • Slice the tenderloin, and place on a serving platter. Sprinkle with the peanuts, and serve with the warm sauce.

  1. The marinade was easy to put together, as was the sauce...can I just drink the sauce? Wow! So easy and the result is out of this world. Definitely a keeper for company this summer. And for us anytime at home. The yummy sounds coming from my husband summed it all up! Wonderful recipe, thank you!

  2. Really liked the flavor of the marinade and tenderloin turned out juicy and flavorful, but we found the sauce to be too sweet. I would cut down the amount of brown sugar if I make it again.

  3. This pork tenderloin was so worth waiting for. I marinated it for the full 8 hours and then grilled it off. The sauce is really delicious and next time I would double it just to be sure I have enough for the meal and leftovers. Made for SWT 2018 - Hawaii.

  4. Made for PRMR! Fantastic tenderloin. I did not have pineapple juice so I substituted orange juice. Great flavor and so easy t make. Loved it! Thanks

  5. Great pork dinner with an out of this world marinade, sort of like a sweet and sour sauce, but very good. With the weather warming up here, it was nice to get the grill going again. Made for one easy fix-it dinner. Made for Zaar Stars.

Tweaks

  1. This is a wonderful recipe. The pork was so tender. Only me and my son took the sauce. We both loved it. It's like plum sauce. In the marinade, I used dry white wine instead of the dry sherry. I used garlic powder instead of garlic salt. Thanks breezermom :) Made for Count Dracula and His Hot Bites for ZWT7
