directions

  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • In another bowl combine eggs, milk and oil, whisk.
  • Stir wet ingredients into dry, just until mixed, batter will be slightly lumpy.
  • You can also added spices if you would like, I have used cinnamon and it was wonderful, or try pumpkin or apple pie spice for a real treat!
  • The secret to these pancakes is to preheat your pan on a medium to low setting, this allows them to cook slower and rise higher.
  • Pour 1/2 cup of batter at a time and flip when bubbles appear across top of pancake.
  • Cook on other side until golden brown.
  • Top with favorite toppings and enjoy!

  1. Thanks for this great recipe! Pancake purists may rebel at this, but I made them savoury by leaving out the sugar and adding a pinch of fresh-ground pepper and a cup of chopped spicy sausages to the batter. With a dollop of taco sauce for topping, they came out pretty awesome! :)

  2. So I'm not a huge pancake fanbut my kids love them. I typically use the box pancake mix from the grocery store, but i ran out this morning. So i found this recipe, i followed to the letter but added 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. These pancakes are amazing! I had to make 2 batches because the kids wanted some frozen for the rest of the week's breakfasts. I highly recommend these pancakes!

  3. I had a bad hankering for pancakes this morning and came across this recipe. This is the first time I've made it from scratch and I must say, they turned out even better than I expected! I substituted almond milk and coconut oil for what was called for in the recipe, and added a bit of vanilla and pumpkin spice. Wow!

  5. wow! let me start off by saying that this is going to save me a TON of money! lol my daughter and husband LOVE pancakes, and normally i make a big batch once a week and freeze some for her to have in the morning before school, so its easy to say i spend a lot of money on pancake mix or should i say now that i used to now that i have found this! its easy simple, batter is just the right consistency and the brown up and raise beautifully! plus they freeze well which is always a plus for people who have kids and want to give them a hot breakfast with little time and effort. plus you can mix just about any thing in with it. GREAT recipe :)

  1. Instead of adding in cinnamon, what I did was take a 3/4 cup of light brown sugar, packed, mused with about a tablespoon cinnamon and put it on top of the pancakes after buttering.
