directions

  • In a small bowl, mix oil, salt and paprika. Brush the rough sides of the pita with the oil mixture. Cut each circle in 8 points. Put the pita points side by side, oiled side on top, on a large baking sheet. Cook in the center of a preheated oven of 350 F for about 12 minutes or until pita chips are golden and crispy. Put the pita chips on a rack and let cool. (You can prepare the pita chips in advance and put them in an hermetic container. They will be good up to 3 days at room temperature.).

  1. Well the 4 of us managed to go through these in 1 sitting. Thought the paprika flavor was just right. What was humorous was that we were watching dateline, and we were too busy feeding our faces, and raving about these we forgot what they were featuring on the show. Anyway, great tasting appetizers. Made as a bonus for your win in June I Recommend.

  2. I really loved these! They were so simple to make, too. I enjoyed the combination of paprika and salt..simple and delicious. I almost ate all of the pita chips in one sitting!

  3. Well the DM and DS nearly polished off the lot and most of the salmon and avocado dip. I had my oven at 160C fan forced and in 12 minutes they were well browned and crisp, next time I'll check at 10 minutes and or lower my oven temperature to 150. I would also like to try different flavours with the oil as well, maybe a herbal one. Thank you Boomette, made for 123 Hits.

  4. I have to admit that we found these a bit flavourless; maybe my paprika is not strong enough. They looked pretty, though, and perhaps they would be better served with something on the spicy side. I served along with a soup.

  5. 1. Make an entire batch of recipe recipe #113622. 2. Add enough red pepper to turn the whole thing bright pink. 3. Double a batch of recipe #428713 for 'scoops'. 4. Eat whole thing. 5. Complain of heartburn. 6. Have DH and other family mems think you to be a complete idiot. 7. Return to step one. Made for 123 Hit Wonders.
