  • Snap ends off green beans, and cook.
  • Meanwhile, heat oil in skillet over medium heat.
  • Add garlic and shallots and cook to soften.
  • Toss with cooked green beans.
  • Add Parmesan and toss.
  • Serve immediately.

  1. Stacyb, Thanks for a very good tasting recipe.I did not have any fresh green beans,but used canned and this tasted like the Italian green beans my daughter makes.The only thing I did different was to add 1/2 tsp of italian seasoning.This was great. Thanks,Darlene Summers
     
  2. This was a great way to cook string beans. I added onions with the garlic and a little oregano at the end. I think this would also work well with butter in place of the oil. Thank you for posting!
     
  3. These were pretty good. I ran out of Parmesan, so I had to make them without and they still turned out nicely. Will make this again and add the cheese next time. They were quick and easy to make too.
