  • Melt butter in a medium sauce pan on medium heat.
  • Add rice, cook and stir three minutes.
  • Stir in chicken broth,garlic powder,parsley flakes and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce to low,cover and simmer 20 minutes or until rice in tender.
  • Stir in parmesan cheese and sliced almonds.

  1. The only change I made was using fresh parsley, since I have it growing in the yard. This is very easy and quite tasty and the perfect side for some roast salmon. Would also be good with a roast chicken.
     
  2. I did make a couple of slight changes here, in that I used brown rice & I toasted the almonds! Other than that, though, I stuck with the recipe as given & must say, THIS RICE PILAF IS GREAT any way you look at it ~ easy to prepare & satisfying! Think I'll keep this one onhand ~ Thanks for sharing it! [Tagged, made & reviewed in New Kids on the Block tag]
     
  3. Very good and quick. Takes less time than making plain rice in the steamer. Will be making this again frequently.
