  • Bake at 350 degrees, 12-15 minutes, about three dozen cookies.
  • To begin this healthy cookie recipe blend the dry ingredient, blend the wet ingredient . . . combine wet and dry ingredient.
  • Take a full teaspoon of dough, roll into a ball in palm of hand. If the dough will not form a ball add two more tablespoons of molasses.
  • Place on aluminum foil or parchment paper about one and a half inch apart, flatten slightly, sprinkle top of cookie with water (for a cracked finished effect) then sprinkle top with a hint of sugar.
  • Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes. Cool.
  • The finished cookie is round and flattened when baked. The molasses makes the cookie a passionate dark sienna color and keeps the cookie soft. . . . very nice with pinot noir wine.

  1. This recipe makes a very yummy cookie. I found that the oats won't grind down to a fine flour texture no matter how long you process them, lol. Also a baking tip: at 12 mins these were perfect in that they were baked and still soft but no cracks. I gave them the extra 3 mins and they were suddenly dunking cookies! Quite hard and still no cracks. Don't worry about putting them closer together as they don't spread at all. OK, having said all of that the flavor is great and the baking perfumed the house beautifully. In fact when DH came in from outside his nose led the way. "It sure does smell good in here" is always a welcome comment isn't it :D. I increased the cinnamon but I do that with everything simply because I'm a real cinnamon addict. Delicious spice cooking that are good for you, whats not to love?
