  • Saute onion in butter until limp.
  • Add prosciutto and saute for 3 to 4 minutes longer.
  • Add whipping cream and simmer. Do not boil.
  • Beat egg well and add to cream sauce.
  • Continue simmering until you get desired consistency, approximately the same as a thick cream sauce.
  • Add seasonings and cheese.
  • In the meantime, cook spaghetti al dente in boiling, salted water.
  • Drain and add to cream sauce.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Correct seasonings.
  • Pour out onto serving plates and top with a little chopped parsley.
  • Serve at once.
