  • Rinse peas, set aside.
  • Chop all veggies, season with salt, and saute in olive oil.
  • Add peas and 2 quarts water.
  • Cook until done.
  • Puree, adjust seasonings.

  1. I make a similar soup, but with a couple of changes. I use vegetable or chicken stock instead of water. I add a dash or two of liquid smoke or cumin to add the smoky flavor. I also use 1-2 bay leaves for additional flavor. My husband still prefers it with ham, but since I like it without better, he adds a little after it has been made. It is a great soup!
