  • 1 (750 ml) bottle pinot grigio wine
  • 1 fresh peach, chopped
  • 12 cup peach schnapps
  • 12 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar
  • ice cube
  • 1 fresh peach, sliced

directions

  • Stir Pinot Grigio, 1 chopped peach, peach schnapps, basil, and agave nectar together in a pitcher; add ice. Pour into glasses and garnish with peach slices.

  1. This sangria is absolutely delightful! The peach and the basil are a lovely combination; I muddled them in the pitcher a bit before adding the other ingredients to get more of that flavor into the drink. I used vinho verde (a Portuguese white wine) instead of the pinot grigio. Made me smile with every sip - thanks for sharing a great recipe! Made for ZWT8, Chefs gone WILD!
     
  2. I'm so happy I tried this sangria! It's so refreshing and I would never have thought to marry peach schnapps with Pinot Grigio. I also love the fruit and the not-so-subtle flavor the basil gives it. Wonderful! Thanks, smellyvegetarian! Made for ZWT, Spain region.

I live in Knoxville, TN with DH, my beautiful son, and the most spoiled cat on the planet! I grew up in Cincinnati and landed in TN by way of Bloomington, IN and Santa Fe, NM. Needless to say, it's been a long, strange trip!! To explain the name: I was veg for 11 years, vegan for 1. In the last year or so I started eating poultry and fish again, but my brother-in-law's nickname for me (smelly vegetarian) has always stuck.
