Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Beat shortening and peanut butter till well blended.
  3. Add *1/2* of the sugar and all of the brown sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Beat.
  5. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add to the peanut butter mix, blending well.
  6. Shape the dough into one inch balls and roll each one in the last third of sugar.
  7. Place on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, IMMEDIATELY pressing a kiss into each center as soon as the cookies are finished in the oven.
