Peanuty Apple Toast

"An excellent quick breakfast sandwich I created. The blend of gooey peanut butter and sweet apple is irrestistible with the satisfying crunch of toast."

directions

  • Slice the apple into slices; you can either core the apple with a corer first or cut out the core when you get to it; peel if you feel necessary.
  • Put your bread into the toaster.
  • Once toasted spread peanut butter on the bread, add the apple to form one layer, and then sprinkle the apple with cinnamon.
  • Place the other slice on top and enjoy immediately!

  1. I was actually planning to submit this recipe, but did a quick search to see if it was already here. I'm glad I did as I wouldn't want the recipe double posted. I make this toast quite frequently. It's a quick, easy and healthy breakfast or snack. I have never tried it with cinnamon, though. That sounds interesting and I think I will try it next time. I also don't put a slice of bread on top, but have my toast "open-faced". Yum, I think I will make some right now!! *edit* Ok, I have made it using cinnamon and have determined that I like it better without it. The cinnamon seems to overpower the apple/peanut butter taste, IMHO.

  2. I made this for toddler DD for lunch but grated the apple to make it easier for her to eat. She wasn't that taken with this one unfortunately and didn't really eat any after the first bite, I on the other hand thought it was an interesting combo as I got to her her leftovers..LOL Made for ZWT 4.

  3. Not that you need another 5-star, but here it is! A yummy dessert last night. We served 'em open-faced with a shake of powdered sugar with the cinnamon. Made for Daffy Daffodils ZWT4

  4. Yummy and quick breakfast. Kept to the recipe, I used Granny Smith Apples for the apples. Thank you LUv 2 BaKE - *Made for Zaar World Tour 4*

  5. This made a fast and nutritious breakfast on the go. I forgot the cinnamon- :(- Needed coffee I guess. This was great without it. Next time I will add cinnamon and maybe even some honey! yum! :) *Made for ZWT *

Hi! Thanks for visiting my page! I just graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutritional Sciences in May 2008 after 5 years of hard work. My hard work paid off as I was accepted to a post graduate dietetic internship which I am currently completing and will be done in June. The internship allows me achieve professional designation as a registered dietitian. This is a very exciting but also a very busy time for me so I have not been contributing to zaar nearly as much as i'd like to. I have always loved baking and cooking and looking for healthier recipes or ways to make recipes healthier to fit into my lifestyle. I am pesco-vegetarian as I do not want animals to suffer for my consumption. I also love to be active in individual sports and train year round for triathlon. I am both an active racer and volunteer. The distance I prefer most is the Sprint distance - 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run. This upcoming race season marks my 16th year of participating in triathlon. I love it just as much, if not more, than I did 16 years ago!! I also have a newfound love for Iyengar yoga. I have a profound love for animals and the pretty little kitty you see as my icon is my 16 1/2 year old cat Snuggles. Sadly, Snug passed away in March 2006, and is dearly, dearly missed.
