“This is an extremly modified version of walnut crescent cookies that I got from my foodie friend Linda. First of all, I use pecans rather than walnuts. Second, I don't make them into crescents, I roll them into balls. Either way, they are delicious, addictive and never last long on the cookie tray during the holidays.”

Directions

  1. Put the pecans in a blender or food processor to get them down to a crumbly not-so fine powder-like consistency.
  2. Cream together the 2 cups of butter with the sugar and vanilla.
  3. Sift together flour and salt.
  4. Add to butter mixture.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Add the nuts.
  7. Mix to combine.
  8. Roll into balls and bake fot 15-20 minutes.
  9. Roll in the remaining sugar while still warm.
