  • In a large mixing bowl, blend together flour, sugar, butter and salt until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press firmly and evenly into a greased 9 x 13-in baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in another bowl, combine first five filling ingredients. Stir in pecans. Spread evenly over hot crust.
  • Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes or until set. Cool on a wire rack.

  1. I was looking for a great pecan pie squares recipe and chose this one because the filling was nearly identical to my favorite pecan pie. I did decrease the sugar in the filling to 1 cup and added 1 more T of butter and a pinch of salt. Not sure I'll ever bake a pecan pie again since this recipe was so good, and you can cut the squares any size you like to serve more friends and family. I might line my pan with parchment paper next time since it stuck to the edges.
     
  2. A very nice square. They needed just few more minutes in my oven to set up properly. A keeper, thanks for sharing!
