directions

  • coarsely crack the peppercorns.
  • lightly salt the fish fillets then roll them in the cracked pepper.
  • heat the oil in a frying pan and brown the fillets on all sides for 3 minutes, or until just cooked through. [take care not to over cook. if necessary cook each fillet at a time, try not to steam the fish by overcrowding the pan].
  • serve with a salad, pasta or crusty bread on the side.

  1. This was very good, but maybe I cooked it wrong. Next time I'll make sure the pan is VERY hot so it seals in the pepper flavor. Will try again! Thank you!

  2. Good basic recipe. I decided to blacken my cod in a cast iron skillet with the peppercorns. Although I don't eat fish (I'm a vegetarian), my handsome other half says it's a weekly repeat. (we'll see about that!) ;) Thanks Fuji.

  3. Very good - very easy. What more could you ask for???

  4. This was delicious. Had it for dinner last night with roasted fingerling potatoes and fresh asparagus. I used Mignonete pepper from Penzy's. Thanks for posting.

  5. This was a very simple and healthy way to prepare cod. I used a combination of basic white and black peppercorns as this is what I had on hand. Thank you FujiGirl for sharing the recipe.
