  1. I didn't have the same trouble that the Coconutcream had, but I have to agree that the flavor is not what I was expecting. The cookies taste better after sitting for a couple of days, though, since the butter flavor comes out more. However, the mint extract does not complement the butter taste. I had made these for my holiday cookie tray, but they were not successful. I don't recommend this particular recipe.

  2. I'm sorry, but this recipe just didn't work. I had a very difficult time working with the dough, especially the white portion, as it wouldn't hold together. The only way I could roll it out was by wetting my hands, and even then it wouldn't roll into smooth ropes but had cracks and tears and splits all along the way where the dough wouldn't stick together. I couldn't get the red and white dough to hold together either and had a tough time trying to shape them into balls. These took much longer to cook than the recipe calls for - I lost track, and they were still pretty doughy when I gave up and took them out of the oven. The presentation isn't bad except for the ragged, uneven edges that resulted from my inability to roll them, but these don't have any flavor and just don't taste good. I'm really sorry to give a bad review, but these cookies just don't work.
