  1. Put potatoes in a saucepan.
  2. Add 1/2 tsp salt.
  3. Add water until potatoes are covered and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer covered 15-20 mins or until done (a fork can easily be poked through them).
  5. Warm cream and melt butter, together, either in a microwave or in a pan on the stove.
  6. Drain water from potatoes, Put hot potatoes into a bowl.
  7. Add cream and melted butter.
  8. Use potato masher to mash potatoes until well mashed.
  9. Use a strong spoon to beat further, adding milk to achieve the consistency you desire (Do not overbeat or your potatoes will get gluey).
  10. Salt and pepper to taste.
