“Quick and easy to make. I especially like a goulash in the winter as an alternative to chili. My husband is a VERY PICKY eater, but he loves this dish. This goulash is best on the second day and is great with a salad and garlic bread.”

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 lb ground beef or 1 lb ground turkey or 1 lb ground chicken, browned (I prefer lean turkey)
  • 12 cup chopped onion, sauted with the meat
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans mixed vegetables (OR 1 can cut greenbeans with juice and 1 can whole kernel corn with juice)
  • 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes (I prefer Hunt's with spices already in it for more flavor)
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce (I prefer Hunt's with spices already in it for more flavor)
  • 12-34 cup small elbow macaroni (or dice 1 extra large potatoe or 2 medium potatoes instead of noodles)
  • 34 cup water (I use one of the empty veg. cans)
  • salt and pepper (I prefer the grinder kind of sea salt and black pepper or mixed pepper)


  1. In a stew or dutch-oven pot, saute meat and chopped onions until brown.
  2. Pour off any grease (I use lean turkey, so I don't have extra grease).
  3. Add to browned meat& onions all of the remaining ingredients (the order doesn't matter).
  4. Stir and bring to boil, then turn down to medium-low or simmer and put lid on pot.
  5. Simmer 20 minutes or until noodles (or potatoes) are done.
  6. Stir occasionally to keep from sticking to bottom of pot.
