  • 1 (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 13 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 1 13 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 8 ounces whipped topping
  • 12 cup finely chopped walnuts (optional)

directions

  • Prepare and bake cake according to pkg instructions for a 13x9 inch pan.
  • Cool completely.
  • Mix pineapple and sugar in saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Mix cornstarch and water; stir into pineapple.
  • Cook and stir for 1 minute; remove from heat.
  • Cool completely.
  • Cover cake top with pineapple mixture.
  • Top with whipped topping; sprinkle with nuts.

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
