Play Dough

"An inexpensive way to make playdough. I have made this up and given it as birthday treats with a cookie cutter to go along with the playdough."

 1. Very easy & great texture!! My 2.5 yr old twins love it!!! Now, a full month later, it's just as moist in an old wipes box as it was the day I made it!! This is my new playdough recipe!! Thank you..it's given my girls hours of fun!!

 2. Audrey, This recipe deserves more than 5 stars for the fun it gave me and my grandchildren. It was very easy to do and the kids had a ball making and playing with it. Thanks so much from, Kelli,Corey,Paul, and Sarah Beth!!!! And from me too, Darlene Summers

 3. Playdough turned out great! I too, only used half the amount of cream of tarter. Does anyone know if this needs to be stored in the refridgerator?

 4. I was doubtful when I heard you had to cook it. Honestly while I was cooking it I thought I ruined it, but that was how it was supposed to be. Turned out very soft and pliable. I only used 3/4 T of Cream of Tartar because that's all I had but it worked out well.

 5. This recipe has a good texture but the 2 Tbsp. of cream of tartar listed is too much. I cut it to 1 Tbsp. and that was plenty. Next time I may try 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar. I used gel color from a cake decorating store. Much better than grocery store food coloring! All in all, a nice smooth playdough! Thanks! I had lost my other recipe and this one rescued me when I went to make some for my son's preschool class.

I am a mother of three and live in central Pennsylvania. My children were very active in after school activities and found we weren't spending anytime together at meal time. In 1998, I decided to start cooking my dinners in a crockpot so that we could have a home cooked meal together once everyone came home. My children now get so excited to see what we are having to eat and love the smell when they walk in the door. My family calls me the crock pot queen. LOL I use my crock pot everyday of the year.

My three children are now in college and before they come home they request their favorite meal. I still continue to cook in the crock pot for my husband and I. It is nice after a long day to know your meal is ready. It also helps in keeping my grocery bill down. With zaar, I can print my shopping list and that is all I purchase is the ingredients on that list.

Now, my two daughters have been crock pot cooking while in college. They find it is easy to cook for the themselves and their friends. It is an easy way to have friends over for dinner after classes

I still love trying new recipes and purchasing cookbooks, especially crock pot cookbooks.

Happy Cooking!
