  • Peel and chop the onion.
  • Put the onion in the bottom of a large casserole.
  • Put the chops on the top.
  • Peel the apple, discarding the seeds and core.
  • Slice the apple and spread over the chops.
  • Add the cider.
  • Put the lid on the casserole.
  • Cook for two hours at 150°F, 300°F, Gas mark 2.
  • Serve with rice and salad or potatoes and green vegetable.
