Pork Chops and Apples

"I got this recipe from my 1970 Southern Living cookbook. I thought it was good and it got us away from the same old way I use to make them. Prep and cook times are approximate, depending on your oven. The recipe says 4 servings, but for us it was 2 servings, since we had two chops each."

 1. I tried John's suggestion of using the cinnamon instead of the caraway seeds and it was delicious!! My 2 year old had seconds and getting my son to eat anything that is not is a hotdog is something of a challenge! Bravo Keen5!!

 2. This was a very good recipe. The pork, even though it was 3/4"-1" thick, you could cut it with a fork. Perfect recipe. Now the bad news: I don't like caraway seeds. I used them, but not my personal taste. Next time I'm going to substitute cinnamon for the caraway.

 3. So easy to make and tasety too. This has become one of our regulars

 4. I've made this recipe before a few times but am finally getting to reviewing it. The pork chops come out pretty tasty and tender. My wife thought the apple slices were too big, even when I quartered them instead of halving. She also picks off the caraway seeds when I make it. I personally like them. I find baking apples work the best in this recipe. I used some fresh eating apples the last time and thought they reduced too much.

 5. This is a very easy recipe to put together. I followed the recipe, except I quartered the apples and only made half the recipe as there is just the two of us. I used the caraway seeds as we love them. I served this with sauteed noodles and cabbage. Thanks for the recipe. Carole in Orlando

I love to cook, but don't have a lot of time to do it, since I work full time. I like to try a new recipe every Saturday, if time allows.

I have one grown son and three grandaughters ages 16,10 and 3. The ten year old has won many medals in gymnastics meets over the past few years.
