Pork Chops Hunter's Style

"This was my favorite dish when I was a kid. I also made it often when we were first married, and my husband still requests it! It's great with chicken breast, too. Just cut the baking time to 30 minutes. Serve with rice. UPDATE: I'm editing the amount of water in this recipe to 1/4 cup. If you're NOT using very lean chops, you can omit it all together."

  1. This was fabulous! We all loved it. And it's so easy to prepare, too. The house smelled so good while it baked in the oven! I used the extra pan sauce to add a bit of color and flavor to steamed white rice, and it was a fabulous touch. Altogether, a great meal! I can see why it's one of your husband's favorite meals. Thanks for sharing your recipe, Chef PotPie. It was a huge hit in our house.

  2. Delicious! I cooked the chops in a cast iron pan and tossed the pan in the oven...we really enjoyed the flavor of the sauce...made this for the Best of 2019 per Northwestgal's recommendation...

  3. So simple but SO Yummy. I followed the recipe except that I omitted the celery and I doubled the sauce ingredients (except for the water and salt) so there would be plenty for the rice. I served it over Trader Joe's Frozen Organic Brown rice with California Blend and a couple Honeydew slices. It was devoured. The pork chops (I used lean Boneless) came out so tender and moist. Thanks for a quick and easy recipe.

  4. I'm so sorry but we did not like this recipe. We found the onion flavour overpowered everything. When we scraped the sauce off the meat, it was edible. But, the pork chops weren't very tender.

  5. I decided to try this recipe because I had all the ingredients on hand. I wasn't expecting much to be honest but I was very happily suprised!! This stuff is so good that my husband and I scarfed them down and had extra. This is definitely a keeper as it fits my criteria for a great recipe: simple, inexpensive, easy and delicious! Thank you very much!
