Pork Chops With Blue Cheese Gravy

"BOY, does this look good.... if you like blue cheese. I highly recommend a moist blue cheese as opposed to a more crumbly one to facilitate making the sauce. Nabbed with no shame whatsoever from allrecipes.com."

directions

  • Melt butter in a large skillet, over medium heat. Season the pork chops with black pepper and garlic powder. Fry the chops in butter until no longer pink and the juices run clear, about 20 to 25 minutes. Turn occasionally to brown evenly.
  • Remove chops to a plate and keep warm. Stir the whipping cream into the skillet, loosening any bits of meat stuck to the bottom. Stir in blue cheese. Cook, stirring constantly until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Pour sauce over warm pork chops.

  1. Wow! We said 5 stars - our cardiologist said mmmmmmmmmmm lovely, but stop eating it now! Delicious flavours. We served with mashed potato, asparagus, yellow squash and some Lipitor (sorry, just joking). There is two of us and we have leftovers to eat and are trying to figure out what time to call the ambulance. In all seriousness, it was a wonderful dish and we really enjoyed it. We will just have to portion our intake in the future so we can try more of your recipes.

  2. WOW!! I have never made such a SIMPLE dish and had it turn out to be so DELICIOUS! I followed the recipe exactly and really would not change a thing. Served it with peas and mashed potatoes.

  3. This was a really delicious recipe. I liked it a lot, and my husband LOVED it. The sauce really makes it. We grilled our chops, and then to make the gravy I added a bit of chicken broth, butter and then followed the rest of the gravy recipe as directed. I'm sure it would taste even better if I had cooked the chops in a pan and had the tasty bits to use in the gravy. Thanks so much for posting the recipe, my husband has already told me we have to have this again soon.

  4. This is so good! Followed the recipe exactly, and it was very tasty. One complaint, and I should know better - always brine pork first. (chops need to be a little more tender.) I'll do this the next time, then it WILL be 5 stars, for sure. Gravy was great over noodles. Try it with chicken breasts? Why not!
