“My mother was an amazing woman, but the kitchen was not her favorite place. Every year, Thanksgiving and Christmas, she would make these amazing rolls. I am on a mission to reproduce that recipe because she is gone and no one can find the darn recipe. This one is: http://orangesandbiscuits.blogspot.com/2008/11/grandma-hattons-porterhouse-rolls.html”

Directions

  1. Mix together first 3 ingredients & let stand 20 minutes in warm room for yeast to bloom.
  2. Mix next 5 ingredients together well. Then add yeast mixture and eggs, stir well, add flour, then knead until smooth. Add just enough flour to make a soft dough that can be handled well.
  3. Let rise to double in size.
  4. Roll out and cut into biscuits. Cut half way through each one and dip in melted butter. Fold over half way.
  5. Let rise in pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until brown.
